Data Deletion

Last updated: July 15, 2026

Deleting your data is always in your hands. This page explains how deletion works in VoltraChat, how Meta's Data Deletion callback operates, and what exactly gets deleted.

Path 1 — From the panel

From Panel → Settings you can do two things:

  • Disconnect: you disconnect your Instagram account; the access token is revoked and no new data is processed. Disconnecting alone does not delete historical records.
  • Delete account: with a two-step confirmation you request deletion of your account and all your data. Your account details, access tokens, interaction events, and delivery records are deleted within 30 days.

Path 2 — Via Instagram/Meta (Data Deletion callback)

When you remove VoltraChat's access in your Instagram or Meta account settings, Meta automatically sends us a Data Deletion request. We process it automatically and return a confirmation code together with a link where you can check the status of your request at any time.

Requests coming through Meta's Data Deletion callback can be checked with the confirmation code you receive.

What is deleted, what is retained

  • Deleted: your account details (email, name), the Instagram connection and encrypted access tokens, comment/message interaction events, delivery records, and your automation rules.
  • Retained under legal obligation: invoices and financial records are kept for the mandatory periods under tax and commercial law and destroyed afterwards. Only this part of a deletion request is deferred, with the legal basis documented.

Path 3 — By email

You can also send a deletion request or status query to destek@voltrachat.com; after verifying your identity we process it within the same timeframes.
